  1. yep, it's about to get real. where this was a gamble was do you guarantee yourself 17,000 fans at B/G and have a race or roll the dice and hope for maybe 50k at LA. They lucked out and got almost 60K with the massive TV numbers. at B/G you would have not needed Ice Cube but honestly, would they have filled B/G? hell who knows lol

it's a shift long gone are the days of 130k people at a race hell I don't wanna be in that mess, other than Indy. those glory days of attendance in the '90s have passed a new norm on a good day is 130k for Daytona. new business model indeed.

  2. well, it's like anything else most people don't like the NFL, MLB, NASCAR, F1, Olympics, and so forth. Most of that for no reason about the game or race. It's the world today everyone has a sour opinion about everything let's see what Daytona does. Just hope 1000's of people check out Volusia, STARS, The World Series, WOO and can find something + to bring them back. By the way, HOT has a BIG Enduro this weekend too.

  3. 4 million people checked in and between 55-60k in the place was a sure win for NASCAR. That TV number is impressive IMO since there are many eyes glued to the winter olympics.

Now if they can get Daytona in without a weather delay there is going to be some great momentum. From Adam Stern:

earned a 2.32 rating and 4.283 million viewers for Sunday's Busch Light Clash

, up 168% in viewership from last year and the best for the event since 2016 when it was called the Sprint Unlimited

  4. Dirt isn't either I went to many Waco, Stars & Stripes Speedway and McAllen races the landscape is way different, like it or not people will like this and go to our dirt tracks. If I operated a dirt track I'd be promoting the Clash to my base. This is going to go well. The BMS dirt race was over-hyped and failed IMO. These aren't dirt racing cars.

I was on a deal this week with a lady in California and she asked me about dirt racing for NASCAR. My answer is simple. If you want to go down that road have these teams spend some money and build some I-Stocks, with that IMCA package and go racing. Keep these kit cars on the pavement.

This 1/4 mile race will be fun.
