rebelracewriter Posted June 25, 2003 Report Share Posted June 25, 2003 WHAT: The Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America Makes North Texas Stop WHEN: Wednesday, June 25 (Approximately Noon) WHERE: Towne Lake Park 1401 Wilson Creek Parkway, McKinney The Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America will be making a stop in McKinney, Texas on Wednesday, June 25. More than 200 motorcycles and riders participating are scheduled to arrive for a lunch stop at Towne Lake Park in McKinney. This is the ninth year for the cross-country motorcycle ride that raises money for various children's charities including "The Victory Junction Gang Camp" that was founded by Kyle and Pattie Petty in honor of their late son Adam. Kyle Petty, Richard Petty, Steve Park, Ken Schrader, Terry Labonte, Jeff Green, Matt Kenseth, Harry Gant, and David Pearson will be among the current and former NASCAR drivers participating. Texas Motor Speedway General Manager Eddie Gossage, who has participated eight of the nine years, is once again taking part in the week-long adventure. DIRECTIONS: On Wednesday the group will leave Childress and travel through Wichita Falls on Hwy. 287 to Decatur where they will begin heading east on Hwy. 380. At Denton, the group will go north on I-35 to Loop 288 around Denton and pick up Hwy 380 again continuing east to McKinney. Towne Lake Park is located at 1401 Wilson Creek Parkway, just off Hwy. 75. From the south, take Hwy. 75 north to exit #39/Eldorado Parkway, follow the service road north one mile to Park View, turn right and then right again at the stop sign onto Wilson Creek Parkway. From the north, take Hwy. 75 south, exit #40/Virginia Parkway, continue south on the service road to Park View, turn left and then right at the stop sign onto Wilson Creek Parkway.
