Pacecar
The old Sunoco Super Series, now called the CRA Series, seems to have a good set of rules. http://www.craracing.net/images/2005CRALat...eModelRules.pdf They allow a variety of engine / weight combos: The 18 degree 9 to 1; the 12 degree 9:1; the steel head with 750 carb; a spec motor; a racing produced sealed motor; and a 410 hp crate motor. ABC bodies are preferred with a weight break. When the CRA series publishes their 2006 rules, I think that the USRA SLM series should try to adopt most of them. 44SS
It states that the steel heads must be "OEM production type", does that knock out the A/M heads that meet the other requirements of the rules? Or do you have to use OEM heads?
Pacecar
The cast-iron DART 200cc intake runner heads are legal.
Budman
Big block crates. Much cheaper. A lot more bang for the buck in torque and hp!
HORSEPOWER
That's a good series, they have like 14 different winners in 17 races, I know they have a bunch of good racers. Maybe the rules keep these cars pretty evenly matched? Also the ASA Late Models got a TV deal with the Outdoor Channel. Didn't this series purchase the Sothern All-Stars? http://www.asalatemodels.com/
