rebelracewriter Posted September 18, 2005 Report Share Posted September 18, 2005 For Immediate Release/Your Information Sept. 18, 2005 From Bill Martin, IMCA Public Relations (319) 472-2201, x225 Heart O' Texas Speedway to host national Jeff¹s Performance Southern SportMod race WACO, Texas (Sept. 18) A top prize of $2,000 is at stake at the Jeff's Performance IMCA Southern SportMod Nationals, set for Friday and Saturday, Sept. 23-24 at Heart O' Texas Speedway. Twenty-four cars will make up the starting grid for the feature, which pays a minimum of $200 to qualifiers. All driv-ers who don't advance from their 'B' feature will receive $150. The national race is also the final points race of 2005 for the class. Gates open at 6 p.m., with practice from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22. Heat races, 'B' features and a qualifying feature are on tap Friday, when gates open at 6 p.m. and racing gets underway at 8 p.m. Pit gates open at 5 p.m. and the first heat race is at 7 p.m. Saturday. 'B' features, a race of champions and the main event follow. Top drivers in point standings at tracks that have held at least 10 sanctioned events this season are eligible to compete in the $300 to win race of champions.
