Stewart question.

Here's a question I must admit I don't know the answer to, but I've been curious about for quite some time. In the 40's, 50's and 60's there were two brothers in Austin who were very active in auto racing, especially in the Austin/San Antonio area. Their names are Ernest and Weldon Stewart. Ernest went by the nickname "Tubby". Weldon was the original pit steward at Austin Speed-o-rama for A.B. and Louis Wusterhausen.

Robert Stewart currently drives a street stock at THR, Alvin Stewart drives a late model, and Heath drives a USRA SLM.

Are these current drivers any relation to the two brothers I mentioned above? Just curious.

the parents of the Stewarts you are talking about owned and operated what at the time was a first class motel on S. Congress in the 40's and early 50's, Jud Larson drove a car for

Tubby at one time, one of the Middleton twins will probably come on here and can provide more information than I can. Tubby was still around not too long ago,
