WildRacer5
Hey Reb, why do the Texas guys have such a big gap in points from the rest of the group? Not that it is a bad thing that the national champ could come from Texas.
Guest RandyBorlace
I can answer that, our racing season started in january at i-37 and we had all the texas points chasers down here until april, but those "northerners" will more then likely catch up because they run 4-5 times a week up there. it is usually a run away until the last 2 or 3 months for the texas guys, but then all of a sudden the others will catch up. rebelracewriter
Besides what Randy said, IMCA only takes your top 30 starts. After that guys start dropping their worst races, for better finishes. That is the reason northern guys catch up so quick at the end. I know that Henry Witt and Duain Pritchett for sure have reached their 30 starts. So lets say they finish fifth(36 points), and drop a 15th(26 points). They only actually gain the 10 point difference, instead of getting the full 36 points. As I mentioned to SaSpeed once before, it's a screwy system, but it's alot easier to understand than NASCAR WRS, CPI system. In the end of the IMCA point season it will come down to number of wins, anyway(with 10 cars or more). Oh ya did I mention the points change with less than 10 cars? LOL It counts 1 point per car less than 10. It would take forever to explain it all, BUT at least I could do it, unlike NASCAR's CPI which even I still don't understand totally. LMAO I think Deb is the only person to be able to do that one.
