Quite true.  Big money has indeed come to our dirt track community and expensive technological advances are following at an accelerated rate. 

In my opinion, the above scenario is a significant part of what is killing grass-roots asphalt racing.  That, and well-intentioned, but woefully short-sighted track managers who allowed big-money interests to overrule common sense at every turn. It got so bad that only a very few resource-heavy teams dominated every class at local tracks across the country.  Even today, the only really successful asphalt tracks run shows that draw deep-pocketed teams from around the country.  Local asphalt oval racing is essentially on life support. 

Hopefully, experienced track officials - like Texas' Owen Pittman - will have the will-power and good business sense to curtail the influence of Big Money as it relentlessly pushes to escalate the cost of racing for the grass roots racers.
