The Month of July at Dodge City Raceway Park

 

Lonnie Wheatley, DODGE CITY, Kan. (July 5, 2018) – Reaching the halfway point of 2018 with last Saturday night’s Mid-Season Championships, a pair of events at Dodge City Raceway Park are on tap for the upcoming month of July.

 

The 3/8-mile clay oval in southwest Kansas fires back into action next Saturday night, July 14, with another round of championship chase action.  The second and final event of the month takes place on Friday night, July 27, with the popular Driver’s Appreciation Night.

 

The July 14 card will feature title chase action for the IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sport Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars and IMCA Hobby Stocks with the Precise Racing Products DCRP Sprint Cars getting a night off.

 

All five championship chase divisions including the DCRP Sprint Cars, Modifieds, Sport Modifieds, Stock Cars and Hobby Stocks will be in action on the Friday, July 27, card.

 

Tickets for the July 14 event are just $15 with children 11 and under admitted free when accompanied by an adult while the racers at DCRP will distribute numerous free grandstand tickets for the July 27 Driver Appreciation Night.

 

At the midway point, it’s Brian Herbert, Nick Link, Jeff Kaup, Shannon Maughlin and Reagan Sellard leading their respective point chases.

 

Dodge City’s Herbert holds a 27-point lead over Mid-Season Championship winner Koby Walters in the Precise Racing Products DCRP Sprint Car ranks while 2016 track champ Link of Rolla is just 13 points ahead of Kevin Gray in the IMCA Modified chase.

 

Gunning for a fifth title in six years, Woodward, Oklahoma’s Kaup holds an 86-point edge over Brian May in IMCA Sport Modifieds with Maughlin just 16 points ahead of Dusty Witthuhn in the IMCA Stock Car chase and defending champ Reagan Sellard of Bucklin out to a 25-point lead over Dan Rogers in the IMCA Hobby Stocks.
