TRP
Two weeks from Thursday night, it all gets started. The biggest race of the season (thus far) at Texana Raceway Park. June 16th & 17th, plus practice on the 15th. The following are some notes: ***Guaranteed Purse*** 1. Practice on the 15th is only $20 for each person going into the pits. No car charge. General Admission is Free2. Rent-a-Racecars for rent on 15th. $20 for five laps.3. No Rent-a-Race cars will be rented on 16th or 17th.4. Reserved Pit Parking spaces will honored until 5:30 p.m. on Friday and until 5 p.m. on Saturday (this is a meet in the middle approach. We just don't want to have lots of unused spots as visitors continue to roll in).5. Draw on Friday will end at 7:15 p.m. with drivers meeting at 7:15 p.m. Racing will start at 8 p.m.6. After the last checker flag waves on Friday, every is invited to the pits. We will have $2 beer and $1 off hamburgers for the remainder of the night on Friday (after the last checker)6. Draw on Saturday will end at 6 p.m., drivers meeting at 6 p.m. and racing starting at 7 p.m.7. It is our plan to have 8 cars max per heat race on Friday to save equipment (if 32 cars in a class for example, we will have four heat races for that class). We plan to take the highest 16 finishers from the heats on Friday into the Friday night Feature/Qualifier. The top 8 from the Qualifier will be locked in for the big show on Saturday. The second eight from the Friday qualifier will be placed at the for of B Qualifiers on Saturday, followed by the order of finishes in the Friday heat races. Basically, you continue your progress if you don't make it in on Friday, you continue to advance up in the process. If someone shows on Saturday, they will start at the back of the heats.8. We will ultimately have 24 cars qualified in for each class. However, we will allow for one auction spot for each class to create a 25 car field. Anyone can bid, including fans and they place who they want in the feature that did not qualify. Purse is guaranteed for each class and will pay 24 places. TRP
We will begin posting more information and would welcome any sharing of the information here and on Facebook. One item of clarification on the original post above. As drivers, we show up to raceand we appreciate the opportunity to race as much as we can once we enter an event. Everyone will get to race twice on Friday night. Some will be qualified in on Friday and those who are not qualified in will get to definitely race again on Saturday to qualify up. Therefore, over the course of the weekend everyone will get to race a minimum of three times and some will get to race four times. In order to preserve everyone's equipment, we are going to work to hold the heat races to a maximum of eight cars as noted above. Everyone will get into the Friday night qualifiers. It will be our intent to have two qualifiers for each class at 15 laps each to help minimize tearing up equipment. of course, if we have 40 cars in a class that means 20 cars in one qualifier in 20 in another. For each qualifier we will take four cars times two to make up the eight cars qualified in on Friday night. As teams arrive on Friday and we get to a full assessment of the number of participants we can make better decisions on how the heat races fall and we will better know how many cars will be in each of the two qualifiers for each class. We will explain all of this at the drivers meeting on Friday night, but our focus is to let everyone race at least twice on Friday and do our best to minimize putting too many out there together so that teams can preserve their equipment over the course of the weekend
