arob Posted May 28, 2017 Report Share Posted May 28, 2017 What a weekend!!! Is was proven that people that race at STS are some of the best around .front to back and in all classes! As great as the races were the Memorial Day presentation at intermission was the best I've seen. The Veterans Band of Corpus Christi salute to the flags of the military was off the chart. The reading before each flag was introduced hit home and recognizing veterans in the stands from each branch while the band was playing each branches song made you reflect with pride. THe most sobering was the introduction of the POW-MIA flag. Three soldiers from Corpus Christi and one from Driscoll were introduced with a story of how they were lost and not found to date. Very emotional moment that I will never forget. Fireworks were very good as well.It was good to have all the cars on track for they could be a part. So thank you Mr. Ken Hobbs, staff and racers for putting together a great show this weekend and for operating South Texas Speedway and for racing here. It is greatly appreciated.
