NCRA Announces $15,000 to Win Sprint Car Season Opener

Park City, Kansas – December 1, 2016 - Never one to rest on what he has promoted, National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products president and 81 Speedway track owner C Ray Hall announced Thursday the 7th annual “Park City Cup/Air Capital Shootout” featuring the series 360-ci sprint car division slated for Friday and Saturday night, March 23-25, 2017 will now pay $15,000 to win.

“I said when I started this race six years-ago I was going to keep raising the bar on this event each year and I believe that has been accomplished,” said Hall. “This will be the biggest paying race, of any kind, ever held at this track and we couldn’t be more excited.

Yet, there is a chance one lucky driver can “bank” even more winnings.

Once again on Thursday night (March 23) a special time trial session will be held and will have NO bearing on Friday and Saturday night’s program. The driver who sets quick time will earn $500 and if that driver can win Friday night’s feature finale, they will take home $1500. If that driver can go on and “sweep” the weekend, claiming Saturday night’s championship feature, he/she will take home a whopping $17,000. Friday night’s program will have nothing to do with Saturday night’s show.

Last year saw Marion, Arkansas driver Derek Hagar sweep the weekend, earning Friday and Saturday night’s championship features and $11,500 for his efforts.

Past winners of the “Park City Cup/Air Capital Shootout” are: Danny Lasoski (2011, 2015); Jason Johnson (2012, 2013); Kevin Swindell (2014) and Hagar (2016).

Advanced tickets for this event, the World of Outlaw Sprint Car show slated for Saturday night, May 6th and all other 2017 events will go on sale on December 15, 2016, just in time for those stocking stuffers. Details on all advanced tickets will be released in the coming days.
