Powers Leads NCRA Modifieds Against Salina Highbanks Regulars!

Park City, Kansas – September 19, 2016 - Current series point leader Dan Powers will lead the National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products modified division to their fourth annual appearance at the Salina Highbanks Speedway in Salina, Oklahoma this Saturday night (September 24) against the tracks USRA regulars for the $1500 to win “Oklahoma vs Kansas Smackdown.”

Two-time and defending tour champion Powers sits atop the current point standings and holds a ten-point lead over Derby, Kansas driver Scott Green. If Powers is able to hold on to the point lead he would claim a third straight championship, a feat last accomplished by former five-time series champion Brian Franz when he went on to win five straight championships from 2003-2007. For Green, it would be his first ever series championship.

Josh Lanterman isn’t out of the hunt as of yet as the Derby driver sits just 45 points out of the lead. Franz and former tour champion Tyler Davis are tied for fourth in the standings, 190 points behind Powers.

Touring regulars also expected to make the trip include Jason McGehee, Ross Shipman and rookie contenders Kyler Kemp, Clint McFadden and Tommy Carter.

The track regulars are led by their current point leader Tyler Wolff while Barry Gifford, Brett Hansen, Justin Shoemaker, Jared Russell, Steve Holtzkamper, Lee Heiligenthal, Jeff Smith, Jeran Frailey and Justin Rexwinkle will look to reach victory lane for the home town crowd.

An average of forty cars has been the norm the past three years for the NCRA/USRA duel and that is expected to continue for this encounter.

General admission tickets are just $15; $10 seniors; kids ages 7-12 $5 while ages six and under will be admitted free.
