rebelracewriter
Final Ice Breaker series races rescheduled for April 10 KILLEEN, Texas (March 29) – Final races in the I.M.C.A. Ice Breaker series have been re-scheduled for Sunday, April 10 at Texas Thunder Speedway. The program will feature I.M.C.A. Sunoco Modifieds and Stock Cars, and the Jeff’s Performance I.M.C.A. Southern SportMods. Gates open at 2 p.m., the draw closes at 3:15 p.m. and racing is at 4 p.m. What were to have been the last races in the series were postponed from March 26-27 because of cold, wet weather. If the April 10 show is canceled, Modified, Stock and Southern SportMod series champions will be crowned based on standings through the March 19 and 20 events at 281 Speedway in Stephenville. Josh McGaha of Brownwood has an 11 point advantage over Forney’s Cody Smith and Henry Witt Jr. of Waco in the Modified standings. Keith White of Academy has an eight point edge over Sid Kiphen of Gatesville in the SportMod standings, while Duain Pritchett of Combine is comfortably ahead in the Stock standings. Matt Drottz of Fort Worth topped the Hobby Stock points race, which ended at Stephenville. Inclement weather also canceled one of three series dates at Abilene Speedway in February. Series’ championships won’t figure as bonuses in national and regional standings, because none of the four divisions saw the minimum number of 10 events held.
