I have heard rumors, and they are just rumors, that the payout in the Sportsman class for the Apr. 2nd race(which is a non points event) will be expanded. Does anyone have any information on what that payout will be.

Depends on the purse, if your are going to make a points run this year and the nonpionts event purse isnt expanded , why run it and take a chance on knocking yourself out of the next weeks events and a points run.

The Sportsman race has been on the schedule all along. I have heard no discussion of any changes. It is a points race with the normal payout. I am looking forward to seeing all of you guys run.

If there is ever anything official, we will immediately issue a press release, post it on the SAS and TSZ web sites, and make sure all the drivers are notified by phone and/or e-mail.

If you ever have any questions, the best way to avoid confusion is to call Terry Barden and get it straight from the horses mouth (210-827-4524). He is always happy to talk to drivers and answer questions.

The Sportsman race at SAS on April 2 will be a non-sanctioned, non-points race. However, the purse will be increased for this race. Purse payouts and additional details will be posted in the near future.

i think that is why we all thought the race was a non-points race with an increased purse............i was wondering too but will wait for the official post later..............thanks for your help debbie...............

Sportsman Drivers,

I just got off the phone with Terry Dickerson, and we will have this issue resolved by tomorrow afternoon. We will post an official release by tomorrow night or Wednesday morning.

In the meantime, I ask that you be patient during the transition process. I know that Terry is committed to doing what's best for SAS, including the drivers and fans. Most of all, he needs your support, so just get ready to race on Saturday! We really want to put on some great shows for the fans, especially since we normally have the stands pretty full on the USRA shows.

We'd like to build a contact list for all SAS drivers, whether you're currently registered with SAS or not. Please send me your name, home telephone number, cell number and e-mail address so we can make sure you're personally contacted for any changes to the schedule, etc. Send your information to me at debwill@sanantoniospeedway.com.

Thanks . . . and let's go racing!!!

We are going to honor whatever the previous management committed to do...We have to find out what the status is of the paperwork for this race and then will will issue a release asap, hopefully no later than tomorrow...Regardless of the outcome, there will be a Sportsman race this Saturday and we want all of you to be there to race with USRA and be part of the opening night at SAS...

Please note, we will not be running the track via the message board. Whatever we release on our schedule is what we will do. The rule book is the rule book. It is much easier for all of us to operate that way. If there are any other issues hanging around out there like this, please contact Terry Barden directly and so we can get them fixed right away. (210-827-4524) Thanks for your support and we look forward to seeing you this Saturday.
