rebelracewriter
17 cars started the IMCA Modified 20 lap main with Jasen Hammond and Jochum Schievink on row one. On the initial start, Raymond Barnes spun from third, with J David Merrell spinning to the infield as the pack scattered to miss Barnes. Before the green could fly, Jack Baggerly rolled to a stop with flat left rear. Finally under green Schievink got the early lead, with Rick McDaniel moving up into fourth from his eighth place start. As Schievink and Hammond battled for the lead, McDaniel moved into third and quickly closed on the lead duo. By lap 5 the top three were nose to tail, while Barnes and JD Merrell were working their way back up. McDaniel took a look inside Hammond on lap 8, but fell back in line. As the crossed flags were shown it was still Schievink holding the point, with Hammond, McDaniel, James Huddleston and Kevin Switzer in the top five. As the top three eased away McDaniel got by Hammond for second on lap 12. McDaniel closed back up on Schievink quickly as the leaders caught traffic. Schievink was forced to slow by a lap car and that was all McDaniel needed to dive inside and grab the lead on lap 15. The leaders got a scare the next lap as Jerry Slemmons spun in front of them, but both cleared without contact. This would set up a four lap shootout to the checkers, between McDaniel, Schievink, Hammond, Huddleston and Switzer. On the restart Hammond got by Schievink, while Huddleston got tapped by Terry Dumas and spun, but continued under power. Dumas and Barnes made contact, with both taking a trip through the infield. With two to go, Hammond was right on McDaniel's bumper. Hammond took a shot low in turns 1-2 on the final lap, but was unable to make the pass. McDaniel took his fifth win in a row to put his RDM Concrete Construction/Cliffs Goodyear Auto Service/Dirt Works Chassis in victory lane. 99 Richard McDaniel 74 Jasen Hammond 30 Jochum Schievink 104 Kevin Switzer 55 Terry Dumas 46 Chuck Crowder 27 Jimmy Mack 40 Raymond Barnes 411 David Merrell 04 James Huddleston 31 Jerry Slemmons 02 Chris Whited 17 Tracy Jerden 05 William Reeves 16 Jack Baggerly 42 J David Merrell 00 Bobby Savage 13x Brandon Byars--DNS--Broke in hot laps Heat 1 Barnes Heat 2 Schievink Heat 3 Hammond After a three wide battle on the last lap, with McDaniel and JD Merrell Duian Pritchett proved lighting can strike twice in the same place! Thus saving himself having to sleep on the trailer floor. In the IMCA Stock Main, 11 cars started the 15 lap main, with Mike Miles and Thomas Wylie on the front row. As the green flew, Pritchett dove low on the front stretch moving up into second from his third row start, by turn one. Miles and Pritchett then began to pull away, leaving Gary Miller and Steve DeGrote to battle side by side for third. At the halfway point the top five were Miles, Pritchett, Miller, DeGrote and Dru Pearson. Pritchett kept trying low to get by Miles, with the two running door to door on lap 9. Pritchett finally got the advantage on lap 10 and inched away. Lap traffic gave Miles a chance to close, but once Pritchett cleared, he was pulled away. At the checkers it was Pritchett taking the win by nearly a straightaway in his Arty and Sons Paint & Body/CA's Auto/Brad Transmissions/Toms Auto Glass/Oasis Bar and Grill/Southwest Engines/Advantage Race Car. 22 Duain Pritchett 62 Mike Miles 7 Gary Miller 92 Steve Degrote 9 Dru Pearson 77 Spencer Jasper 001 Robert Bridschge 00 Thomas Wylie 75 Craig Taylor 85 Ken Grant 71 Becky Jerden In the only heat, Pritchett started dead last and picked off cars one by one, but fell a lap or two short as Miles took the win. A lucky 13 cars started the Hot Stock main, with Pritchett in his back-up car. Once again, he worked his way up through the pack and caught leader, Jeff Hickox. Pritchett pressured Hickox for the lead several times, but fell back in line. A late caution worked to Prichett's advantage as he got along side Hickox as the green and white flew. Pritchett was able to make the last lap pass stick as took his second win of the evening. Pritchett said he had to win the Hot Stock main or his dad was going to make him sleep on floor of the hauler. 122 Duain Pritchett 46 Jeff Hickox 96 James Bailey 11 Kevin Reed 74 John Sliney 13 Melissa Bailey 98 Nelson Townsend 31 Terry Slemmons 192 Peter DeGrote 22 Clarence Hobbs 8 Jerry Slemmons 17 Randal Scott 37 Randy Abbey Heat 1 Hickox Heat 2 J. Early leader, Jimmy Burnside spun himself out, leaving Bobby Cox and Matthew Yates to battle for the win. The two put on a good race until Yates got hung up by traffic, allowing Cox to go on to take the win. 74 Bobby Cox 51 Matthew Yates 33 Travis Hicks 2 Marvin Kenley 141 David Tidwell 12 Mike Burnside 6 Steve Forbus 24 Joseph Hunt 77 Jimmy Burnside 10 Jared Morris 8 John Bailey 02 HL Braddy 1 Derrad Dickson 316 David Richey 00 Kevin Merrifield 3 Matt Gentry 76 Marty Henry 22 Willie Kenley Mini Stock 98 Rick Barrett 22 Stephen Renfro 11 Bryan Whitlock 75 Ed Cox 01 George West 21 Chad Sutter 120 Kerenza West 3 Quentin Noel 14 David Flovin 43 Bernie Adler 00 Zach Freeman 111 Isaac Ives 51 Mike Milsap 45 Tanner Reid 281 Tornadoes(Jr Mini) 37 Dean Abbey 33 Chad Douglas 87 Kyle Warren 31 Justin Slemmons 88 Steven Abbey 3 Josh Cox 03 Daryl Jerden 7 Ashley Daniels 2 Wesley Reed 77 Khristopher Halcomb 17 Derek Sparks--DNS
