The Race Around the Arch: Belle-Clair and Farmington

May 6, 2015

Millstadt, IL - The POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series and the POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Motor Series will head to Belle-Clair Speedway in Belleville, Illinois on Friday, May 8th for the "Battle at Belle-Vegas II." The "Battle at Belle-Vegas II" will be a display of excellent racing with UMP Kettler & Son's Late Models, POWRi Lucas Oil National Midgets, and POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micros on tap. This will be the second time POWRi has visited the 1/5 mile dirt high-banked oval during the 2015 season. The first POWRi event of 2015 at Belle-Clair Speedway was the "Battle at Belle-Vegas I," where 2014 POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series Rookie of the Year Spencer Bayston claimed his first career feature victory. For the POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Motor Series, the "Battle at Belle-Vegas I" served as the season opener, with Dereck King taking the win.

After what is expected to be a thrilling evening of racing at Belle-Clair Speedway, the POWRi series will make the short haul across the Mississippi River on Saturday, May 9th to 3/8 mile semi-banked St. Francois County Raceway. Hosting their solo event of the 2015 season, St. Francois County Raceway never fails to excite! In 2014, "The Hawk," Darren Hagen of Riverside, California stole the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series feature event, while defending POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Motor Series Champion (2013,2014) Nathan Benson of Concordia, Missouri crushed the competition in the 20 lap feature.
