(February 17, 2015) - Memphis International Raceway (MIR) announced Tuesday the postponement of opening weekend for the second straight week due to the current and forecast weather conditions."This second postponement is a disappointment to the entire team as they have worked all winter to make modifications, changes and build excitement for the 2015 season," said Paul Cartwright, MIR Director of Operations. "With the amount of ice on the track and the anticipated temperatures and additional precipitation, this is the best decision for the racers and fans."The kick-off of the 2015 season is scheduled for the weekend of Feb. 28-March 1, 2015. Everything gets started with the year's first Test N Tune on Saturday, Feb. 28. Gates open at 11:30 a.m. and the track is available from noon to 4 p.m. On Sunday, March 1, Summit Bracket Racing Series presented by COMP Cams gets under way. Sunday's race will also include a 6.0 & 7.0 Heads-Up race. Gates open at 9 a.m. and time trials begin at 11 a.m.We appreciate your support and understanding and look forward to seeing everyone at the track the weekend of Feb. 28-March 1, 2015.
