By: Anita Soltis

(Plymouth, IN) Several truckloads of clay were brought in on Sunday, Nov. 9 at Plymouth Speedway to build a better racing surface for the 2015 season.

About a quarter of the track has new clay and the process is ongoing. The entire surface will be ready for the start of the season on April 25 for the Cabin Fever event. Practice will be open the weekend before the opening race in the tracks third season on dirt.

We are dedicated to bring the best racing to the fans here in Northern Indiana, said track owner Ed Kennedy. This new surface will add grip and more grooves of racing. Expect more improvements as the new season gets started.

Plymouth Speedway officials are preparing for the 2014 Championship Banquet on Jan. 24 at Swan Lake Resort in Plymouth. Doors will open at 5 p.m. with dinner at 6 p.m. and awards at 7 p.m. ET. A special rate will be available for an overnight stay at the resort.

The guest speaker will be sprint car driver and chassis fabricator Doug Wolfgang.

Tickets for the banquet are on sale. Call Kathy Bottorff at (574) 952-3619 or Jacki Patrick at (260) 578-2705.
