USMTS to close out 2015 campaign with two gigantic events

WEBSTER CITY, Iowa-After a whirlwind season for the United States Modified Touring Series, two big events remain to close out the 2014 campaign for drivers and fans.

Many USMTS drivers will take part in the 15th Annual Widow Wax USRA Fall Nationals at the Southern New Mexico Speedway in Las Cruces, N.M., this Thursday-Saturday, Oct. 16-18, where a possible $25,000 to win is up for grabs.

Starting Monday, the focus moves to Ardmore, Okla., where the first of the final back-to-back weekends takes place at the Southern Oklahoma Speedway.

The inaugural USMTS Halloween Havoc will take place at John and Nikki Webb's fan-friendly facility where drivers will tackle the high-banked 3/8-mile clay oval beginning Thursday, Oct. 30, and through Saturday, Nov. 1.

Limited Modifieds will also be on the racing card.

With Friday night's event falling on Halloween, the youngsters are invited to do their trick-or-treating at the racetrack where most teams will have candy and other goodies for the kids in costumes.

The following Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Nov. 6-8, the series wraps up the season at the popular Ark-La-Tex Speedway in Vivian, La., where track owner and former racer Gene Boyter has built a great racetrack that provides incredible racing action, and this year's 8th Annual USMTS Winter Nationals should be no exception.

Factory Stocks and Limited Modifieds will also compete all three nights.

Both tripleheader events will feature three complete programs each night with $2,000 to win on Thursday, $3,000 to win Friday and $4,000 to the winner of Saturday's finale.

Wednesday night prior to each event will serve as open practice nights for USMTS and support class competitors.

Drivers can download entry forms for both events at www.usmts.com/downloads or call the USMTS offices at 515-832-7944, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, to enter by phone.
