Two Big Weekends of Racing Quickly Approaching at Plymouth Speedway

By Anita Soltis

(Plymouth, IN) The World Series of Dirt and the Race of Champions will pack the pits and the grandstands for four days of pure horsepower in October.

It all starts on Oct. 3 and Oct. 4 when the Sprints on Dirt Series comes to the Playground of Power. This race will determine the season champion in the SODS. The group has been at the track twice this season and the drivers are looking for another wild round of wheel-to-wheel racing with over 800 hp.

Oh, thats not all.

The Swan Lake Resort UMP Modifieds, Super Streets, Thunder Stocks and Dickies Restaurant 600 Sprint divisions are scheduled that weekend, along with Super Modifieds and Cyber Stocks.

Over 150 cars in seven classes of racing are expected to be a part of this event. Testing is set for Friday, Oct. 3 at 6 p.m. which is free for the fans. Racing begins at 6 p.m. ET on Saturday, Oct. 4. Free camping is available all weekend.

The next weekend will feature a battle of the top UMP Modified drivers in the country in the Lane Automotive 50 Race of Champions, presented by All Star Performance and Cometic Gasket, Inc.

NASCAR driver David Stremme and his brother Bobby, along with Tri City Speedway UMP Champion Ray Walsh, will compete along with many others in this giant weekend of racing.

The 600 Sprints are also set to slide around the track to make it a full night of action.

The 50-lap Race of Champions is set for two big days: Oct. 11 and Oct. 12. The gates will open at 3 p.m., hot laps will begin at 6 p.m. and racing begins at 7 p.m. ET both days.
