Salina Highbanks set for Oklahoma Open Wheel Thunder Nationals

TULSA, Okla. (August 9, 2014) - The Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by MAVTV American Real returns to competition on Saturday, August 16 at the Salina Highbanks Speedway in Salina, Okla.

After two weekends in Iowa competing in the 360 Nationals, Front Row Challenge, and Knoxville Nationals, crews will return their focus on the season championship as Brad Loyet carries the field into the Saturday spectacle that has been dubbed the "Oklahoma Open Wheel Thunder Nationals" with the Lucas Oil ASCS presented by MAVTV American Real joined by the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Sooner Region along with the Oil Capital Racing Series (OCRS) and Open Wheel Midgets.

Loyet's best finish at the Salina Highbanks Speedway is third, which the Loyet Motorsports No. 05 has done twice; first on August 24, 2012 then August 17, 2013. Currently leading by 59 markers over Jason Johnson, Loyet has three wins on the season.

Jason Johnson has parked the Stenhouse, Jr. Racing co owned by Curb Agajanian Performance Group No. 41 in Victory Lane twice at the Salina Highbanks; putting history on the side of the four-time National Champion who hopes to pick up his first Lucas Oil ASCS
