Free tickets for the June 5 KSCS Qualifying Night can be picked up beginning Monday, May 12 at participating Braum's Ice Cream and Dairy Stores, Kroger stores and Chevrolet dealerships in the Fort Worth-Dallas area. "WBAP and KSCS have been in partnership with Texas Motor Speedway since their inaugural season in 1997," said Keri Korzeniewski, president and general manager of ABC Dallas Radio Group. "Our relationship just keeps getting better and we look forward to many more years of great racing and a successful partnership between the ABC Radio Group and Texas Motor Speedway." Qualifying for the O'Reilly 400 begins at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, June 5. The IndyCar Series will qualify that evening at 8:45 p.m. for the Bombardier 500. Gates open at noon. "We had an incredibly exciting race weekend last June," said speedway general manager Eddie Gossage. "Not only do we host events with some of the closest finishes in IndyCar Series history, we also present a truck race with one of the largest crowds on the circuit. We're pleased KSCS is working with us in such a capacity to provide free qualifying tickets to the fans. It will be a great weekend." Race day tickets for the Bombardier 500 and O'Reilly 400 are available by contacting the speedway ticket hotline at (817) 215-8500, online at www.texasmotorspeedway.com, as well as at all participating Ticketmaster outlets. # # # RACERS, FANS TO MAKE LAPS AT TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY FORT WORTH-DALLAS (May 7, 2003) – Racers and fans will take to Texas Motor Speedway in the upcoming days to test the superspeedway in their own manner. Including in the activity will be a test session by ROMCO Super Late Model Series teams and the “Laps for Charity” for fans. Several of the leading ROMCO teams, including defending race winner Chris Davidson, will participate Thursday in a five-hour test session preparing for the June 7 Young Chevrolet 100 that will precede the Bombardier 500k Indy Racing League IndyCar Series race. Also scheduled to test are Greg Davidson, T. Wade Welch, Bradley Riethmeyer, Ronnie Hall, Kent Baltzell and Graham Baker. The Young Chevrolet 100 will be contested for a distance of 70 laps around the 1.5-mile superspeedway. Last year’s race was 50 laps. As was the case for the 2002 debut of the series at Texas Motor Speedway, a carburetor restrictor plate will be utilized to control speeds. FANS TAKE OVER – Fans get the opportunity to take over the speedway Saturday night, May 10 from 6-10 p.m. during the “Laps for Charity” presented by Young Chevrolet. Participants can take their street vehicles for three-lap segments around the superspeedway in a controlled-speed setting for a donation of $25 to Speedway Children’s Charities. All passengers in “Laps for Charity” must be at least six years of age to ride around the speedway. The Speedway Children’s Charities-Texas chapter has distributed $1,880,000 to area children’s organizations the past six years. Speedway Children’s Charities is a non-profit foundation that distributes funds to qualified children’s charities.
