Summit Bracket Racing Series

Presented by COMP Cams: Results Race 4

MILLINGTON, Tenn. (April 19, 2014) - The Summit Bracket Racing Series presented by: COMP Cams returned to Memphis International Raceway (MIR) over the weekend for the first time in over a month. The weather was perfect and the action on the drag strip was nonstop.

The R.T. Turbines Jr. Dragsters produced a first time winner, Drew Mann Tracey out of the Motorvation Motorsports camp, and the R.T. Turbines D.O.T. Street in the D.O.T. saw David Elam from Covington, Tenn. pull out his second victory of the season with a win.

"There was some great racing this weekend," stated Tyler Crossnoe, MIR Drag Strip manager. "We saw a lot of familiar faces and also had a first time winner in the Jr. Dragsters. The weather cooperated with us and it was great to get the COMP Cams Series back out on the drag strip."

RT Turbines Jr. Dragsters

The future of our sport, the kids piloting the Jr. Dragsters, put on another great showing on Saturday night with a new winner for the season. Drew Mann Tracey out of the Motorvation Motorsports camp took home his first win of the season over Tyler Poindexter, both from Millington, Tenn. Both drivers posted great reaction times (.029 to a .032), slight advantage to Poindexter. Drew ran dead on his dial-in with a 10.338 elapsed time on his 10.33 dial-in as Tyler broke out by one-thousandth of a second, 8.039 off the 8.04 dial-in. Brianna Moore took her newly wrapped dragster to the semi-finals where her night ended just one round short of the finals.

RT Turbines Jr. Dragsters Second Chance Shootout

In our newest concept as a part of the Jr. Dragster category, the racers who do not advance to the third round are entered into the Second Chance Shootout. Christopher Huff from Rosemark, Tenn. took the victory with a .037 reaction time and a 7.976 elapsed time off the 7.90 dial-in over Devan Lowe's .102 reaction time and 8.028 elapsed time off his 7.93 dial-in. Layna Tracey from Motorvation Motorsports was the lone semi-finalist.

B&B Towing Footbrake

Footbrake has been one of the most competitive classes of the season so far with different faces going deep in the rounds each week. David Ciarloni from Collierville, Tenn. came up victorious Saturday evening in his 1969 Chevrolet Nova over Danielle Roe Crowder's 1970 Chevrolet Nova from the JAWS Racing Team. Ciarloni recorded a stellar .008 reaction time in the final round to parlay himself to a victory with a 6.106 elapsed time off his 6.03 dial-in. Crowder had a .108 reaction time and broke out on the top end trying to make up the reaction time difference, 6.626 off the 6.63 dial-in. Cody Graham from Millington, Tenn. was the lone semi-finalist in his Steady Stackin' Motorsports 2001 S10 pickup. Gary Roe, Danny Scheele and Troy Poindexter went home in the quarter-final slots to round out B&B Towing Footbrake for the evening.

Rick's Powder Coating Super Pro

Another solid night of racing in the Super Pro category is in the books. Scottie Privett from Alamo, Tenn. outlasted all other competitors to take home the event win in his 2001 Chevrolet S10 pickup truck over the 2014 Racecraft dragster driven by Mark Meadows from Beech Grove, Ark. Meadows left the starting line .011 too soon, turning on the red light and handing the automatic victory to Privett who powered to a 5.877 elapsed time at 115.94mph to go dead-on his 5.87 dial-in. Cody Graham from Millington, Tenn. was the lone semi-finalist in his Steady Stackin' Motorsports 2009 M&M dragster. Dylan Parsons, Rick Taylor and Michael Hall finished the night in the quarter-finals.

RT Turbines D.O.T. Street

In the D.O.T. Street program, there were a few new faces this weekend and a few familiar ones, as well. David Elam from Covington, Tenn. pulled out his second victory of the season with a win over Millington, Tenn.'s Cliff Hubbard in a double breakout race. Elam recorded a .073 reaction time and a 9.412 elapsed time at 135 MPH off the 9.42 dial-in. Hubbard broke out more than Elam with a 14.761 elapsed time off the 14.79 dial-in at 91 MPH.
