ASCS Lone Star ready for Lubbock and Abilene

 

 

 

 

 

TULSA, Okla. (April 21, 2014) - The Smiley's Racing Products Lone Star Region hosts their first stand-alone shows of the 2014 season this weekend with a West Texas double header in Lubbock and Abilene with each night offering a $2,000 to win, $250 to start payout.

 

 

 

 

 

Friday, April 25 will see the Lone Star Region at the Lubbock Speedway. Jake Martens grabbed the victory in the Region's last visit on September 1, 2013 with Matt Covington and Aaron Reutzel completing the podium. Events on Friday are scheduled to begin at 8:00 P.M. (CT) and will include IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sport Mods, IMCA I-Stocks, IMCA Hobby Stocks, and Pure Stocks.

 

 

 

 

 

Admission on Friday is $15 with gates opening at 5:30 P.M. For more information on the Lubbock Speedway, log onto http://www.lubbockspeedway.com.

 

 

 

 

Saturday, April 26 moves to the Abilene Speedway where Matt Covington scored his only Lone Star Regional victory of the 2013 season ahead of Patrick Stasa and Kolt Walker. The undercard on Saturday includes IMCA Modifieds, Sport Mods, IMCA Stock Cars, Hobby Stocks, Street Stocks, and Junior Mini Stocks.

 

 

 

 

Racing on Saturday begins at 8:00 P.M. (CT) with admission set at $10. For more information on the Abilene Speedway, log onto http://www.abilenespeedway.com.

 

 

 

 

 

John Carney II currently leads the Lone Star standings with Patrick Stasa trailing by 26 markers after the season opener at the Devil's Bowl Speedway. Josh Baughman is third with Michael Lang and Travis Rilat making up the top five.
