ASCS Gulf South Heads for Waco and Willis

TULSA, Okla. (April 14, 2014) - The Griffith Truck and Equipment Gulf South Region returns to competition this weekend with events at the Heart O' Texas Speedway in Waco, Texas on Friday, April 18 and Gator Motorplex in Willis, Texas on Saturday, April 19.

ASCS National Tour regulars Seth Bergman and Sam Hafertepe, Jr. currently lead the regional standings with Bergman atop the ladder by 20 over Hafertepe but will not be present this weekend as the Washington native is scheduled to compete with the ASCS Sooner and Warrior Regions.

Odessa's Josh Baughman is currently third in driver standings with Blake Hahn fourth. After a rough end to his weekend at the Battleground Speedway, Channin Tankersley has managed to stay up in the standings, currently fifth. Chris Sweeney, Klint Angelette, Ray Allen Kulhanek, John Pate, and Wes Miller currently make up the top ten in driver standings.

 

Rounds five and six on the 2014 Gulf South Regional lineup, Friday at the Heart O' Texas Speedway will begin at 8:00 P.M. (CT). The undercard includes IMCA Modifieds, Sport Mods, Street Stocks, Hobby Stocks, Bombers, Jr. Sprints, Twister, and Outlaw Twisters. Adult tickets are $15.00 with discounts for kids at the gate. Events on Saturday at the Gator Motorplex will begin at 5:00 P.M. (CT) and include Southern United Sprints, Eighth Mile Sprint Series, Gulf Coast Mod Lites, Limited Modifieds, and Pure Stocks.
