ASCS Southwest Region heads for Tucson

 

 

 

 

TULSA, Okla. (March 31, 2014) - The first weekend in April is a busy one for the ASCS Nation. Adding to the mix, the ASCS Southwest Region returns to competition on Saturday, April 5 at the Tucson International Raceway, located just east of the Tucson metropolitan area.

 

 

 

 

 

The fourth date of the year for the Arizona based series; Bob Ream, Jr. carries the points lead into this Saturday's event at the three-eighths mile oval, fresh off his first Regional triumph on March 15 at the Arizona Speedway.

 

 

 

 

 

New Mexico's James Mosher, who is chasing Regional and National events in 2014, is currently second with Ryan Linder third.

 

 

 

 

 

Fourth through ninth in the standings is anyone's game at this point with early moves in the season setting the tone for the year. Joshua Williams, Lance Norick, defending champion Rick Ziehl, James Aragon, Kaylene Verville, and rookie contender, Nick Parker are separated by eight points. The top ten in driver standings rounds out with Logan Forler.

 

 

 

 

 

Saturday, April 5 at the Tucson Internatioanl Raceway is the first of seven in 2014 for the ASCS Southwest Region. Races are scheduled to begin at 6:30 P.M. (MST) and will include Limited X-Mods, Hornets, Mod Lites, and Dwarf Cars.
