The Huffs are still waiting on some registrations. No registration fee to register your Lone Star Legacy with Janette Huff, but you must be registered in order to race with us this weekend.

Here's the link to the registration forms: http://www.lonestarspeedzone.com/topic/59175-lone-star-legacy-2014-registration-form-posted-here/

Pretty good so far but we're not setting unrealistic car count goals for this first year of trying to bring the Legacys back to life. 6 or 7 have practiced so far. There are a couple more that have said they will be ready, but we haven't seen them yet. Once folks see we are serious about bringing this class back to life, there will be more. The class is just too good to let die.

We are committed to bringing these cars back to the original rules with a few minor differences. As most of your know, the class had become a wreck fest and the rules were basically ignored at Thunderhill towards the end.

We intend to give folks a chance to race in an club-like atmosphere where clean racing and sensible rules and rules enforcement are the name of the game. We're thinking that families wanting to move up from quarter-midgets, Bandoleros, etc, will find the family atmosphere inviting. We have also had inquiries from racers who have grown tired of the high costs and other B.S. that is often associated with the "prestige" classes.

For those who might be interested in running with us, Arden Vikre has a Legacy he is willing to part with for a reasonable price and Tom Harwell has two very nice Legacys that are for sale in the classifieds right now.

6-7 was the norm at CC but seems like it's going in the right direction. Is there still a national series too like when they were Allison Legacy, kinda similar to IMCA? Going back to "spec" seems like it's making it more affordable but from what I can remember, they were always fast. Aren't they supposed to be crate Mazda truck motors?

They run stock Mazda truck engines. They are pretty much bullet proof and deliver a nice balance of HP and torque to make those little cars quick.

They run a full, purpose-built racing chassis with all the adjustments one would expect on a Late Model - except they don't run sway bars. And they run a quick-change rear end.

There is a national organization, but the majority of Legacy owners we talked with who ran under that banner in the past said they wouldn't run under the national sanction. Thus, the Lone Star Legacy Series was born.

These cars are safe, fast and have more than enough suspension adjustments to tune yourself right out of contention in a big hurry! LOL
