I-35 Speedway to sanction four USRA classes in 2014

WINSTON, Mo. (Nov. 5) -- The I-35 Speedway in Winston, Mo., has joined the ranks of its sister track, Lakeside Speedway, for United States Racing Association (USRA) sanctioned racing competition for the upcoming 2014 season.

The track will feature USRA Modifieds, USRA B-Mods, USRA Stock Cars and USRA Hobby Stocks, along with non-sanctioned Grand Nationals and Midwest Lightning Sprints at the 3/8-mile semi-banked dirt oval which boasts 'Dirt Trackin' At Its Best.'

"We have strived from the beginning of owning this track to improve the facility for the fans and racers, making I-35 Speedway the best Saturday night venue around," said co-owner Mike Johnson. "We're very happy with our relationship with USRA, and USRA offers a fantastic insurance policy and higher guaranteed points funds for our drivers."

Special events are being planned for the 2014 season that will focus on fan interaction for kids both young and old.

With both I-35 and Lakeside Speedways utilizing the same rules next season, the husband-and-wife team added that fans can look forward to a return of the "Border War" with specific details to follow at a later date.

Just last week, the Johnsons announced that USRA sanctioning was returning to Lakeside in 2014 with the addition of the USRA Stock Car class.

The USRA Stock Cars and B-Mods are not strangers to the I-35 Speedway. The track has hosted at least one USRA Iron Man Challenge event every year since 2010.

The I-35 Speedway is a 3/8-mile semi-banked dirt oval located 10 miles north of Cameron on SR 6 (exit 64). For more information on special events, ticket information or sponsorship, call 816-365-7592 or visit www.i-35speedway.net online.
