keyman
Powerglide in Sportmod would not move until I revved engine up(to about 2200). Started this after heat and made it thru feature. I think it's a torque converter issue. I was going to pull motor and tranny after next weekend so I was wondering if it would be a good or bad idea to try and make 1 more race the way it is? Well I know it's probably not a good idea just wondering if it would make it or blow up.
HiTech
you have to ask and answer that question to your self ... i would sit down with self and ask this question . self if you can live with the chance of loosing a motor ,blowing a trans up .and possibly wrecking a car along with some else being involved in the wreck .and self will agree it wants to take the chance .go for it.. my self would say fix the problem .. Truck99
I don't mean to make a dumb suggestion here, but did you check the fluid after this started happening? They will do this when the fluid level is low - sometimes even just one quart low.
poorboy
Probably not the converter, Maybe seal on the piston. Call Lawrence Mikulecak at Ace Transmission in Corpus Christi. He can give you an idea. Also check that fluid like Chase said, even less than a quart low can do that
keyman
First thing I did was check fluid. I was thinking that since it's just a low rpm problem it would be ok at speed. Loosing a motor, blowing a tranny or wrecking. It's a sportmod. there's a good chance of that happening every week!
