Arizona Nitro Jam Fact Sheet - Opening race of 2013 Nitro Jam season gets underway March 23 at SIR

 

TUCSON, Ariz. (March 19, 2013) – The International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) Nitro Jam series returns to Southwestern International Raceway in Tucson, Arizona on March 23 for the Arizona Nitro Jam presented by CarSafe and Good Vibrations Motorsports.

 

This year’s Arizona Nitro Jam features multiple professional and sportsman classes spread over the one-day event. The 2013 Arizona Nitro Jam will feature professional competition in Top Fuel Dragster, AMSOIL Prostalgia™ Nitro Funny Car and Fuel Altered and multiple sportsman classes including Top Dragster and multiple local classes. The event will also feature multiple exhibitions including the 30,000 horsepower Super Shockwave jet semi, the “Candyland” wheelstanding stage coach, fireworks and much more.

 

This is the first race of the 2013 IHRA Nitro Jam season with championship points on the line in all professional classes. Last year’s event was the largest event in Nitro Jam history at Southwestern International Raceway, so spectators are advised to arrive early. Adult tickets are only $25 if purchased in advance.

 

Spectator gates open at noon on Saturday with the Nitro Jam professional show at 7 p.m. Sportsman racing will be contested throughout the day.

 

WHAT: The Arizona Nitro Jam presented by CarSafe and Good Vibrations Motorsports is the opening race of the 2013 IHRA Nitro Jam season.
