5StarRacing Posted April 28, 2003 Report Share Posted April 28, 2003 Race Event - April 26th Justin started out with spins during the 1st and 2nd practices. Justin continued to better his lap times with each practice. He was on the outside pole for the 2nd Heat Race. Justin inherited the lead, when 2 cars spun. He managed about a 12-car length advantage after the restart. With 3 laps to go, he got a little high coming out of 2 and clip the rear of the car on the wall and proceed to bouncing off the back straightaway. The car had damage to the right front. Our crew and lots of great friends (both drivers and crew members), worked on the car and thanks to the long red during the Pro Sedans race, managed to made the feature. Justin started last during the main and finished 8th after getting the wall off his mind. 4 places better than last week! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
NickHolt Posted April 28, 2003 Report Share Posted April 28, 2003 Cindy, I happened to be near the back stretch when Justin introduced himself in a big way to the outside retaining wall. He had that heat race in the bag up until then. I was very surprised to see that car back for the main event since it looked pretty badly torn up. But with people like his dad, Bo Bukowski & his dad Butch, Marcos Bellino & Crew, Brandon Bendele, Kevin Bendele, Ervin Breiten Jr., James White, Bobby Black, working on it, would we expect any less. (lol) Actually they were all pretty determined to get him back out there. He also had lots of help from several of the other Sportsman teams by the way of parts and tool loaning. I'll have some pics up here in the next few days of the car duing practice and during the races. Glad to see that he was able to get back out and compete for much of the race...
