This Weekend: Fun Ford Weekend

 

The Fun Ford Weekend presented locally by Baytown Ford is this weekend! It's the Houston area’s largest gathering of Ford enthusiasts and their blue oval machines. Even if you're not a FORD fan there's plenty to see and do on Saturday, March 24th and the weather forecast is going to be perfect, so bring the entire family out to the race track for a day of fun.

 

The race weekend kicks off Friday evening with a Fun Ford kick-off party in the Tower Club hosted by the Northside Mustang Club. Fun Ford officials welcome both participants and fans out to the Tower Club from 7:00-10:00 PM.

 

Royal Purple Raceway’s dragstrip will also open up for its regular Friday Night Legal Street Race evening. Gates open at 6:00pm and close at 12:00 Midnight.

 

Saturday’s ALL FORD action begins when the gates open at 8:00 AM. On track racing starts at 9:00 AM with time trials followed by the Gateway Classics Autocross course competition at 10:00 AM. The action continues all day with the Fun Ford Car Show, swap meet, car corral, the Aeromotive Cobra Jet Challenge, the True Steet Cruise, and tons of competitive drag racing. The awards ceremony wraps of the day’s event at 4:00 PM in the Tower Club.

At the Fun Ford Weekend Presented locally by Baytown Ford parking and pit access are free. Saturday Adult tickets are just $20.00 and kids 5-12 are $5.00.

Traveling to Royal Purple Raceway this weekend

 

Did you know that State Highway 99 in Chambers County is now an all electronic toll road? State Highway 99 borders Royal Purple Raceway and has been the preferred travel route to the racetrack for the last two years as a non-tolled road. We recommend our race fans use State Highway 146 (Exit 797) off of Interstate 10 and travel

 

South to FM 1405 which is the first stop light. From there take a left and proceed one half mile to FM 565. At the stop sign take another left and Royal Purple Raceway will be approximately 2 miles down on your left.

 

Race fans may still travel on SH 99 but must use a TxTag, EZ TAG, or TollTag to pay tolls. If you don’t have one of these you can visit www.TxTag.org or call 1-888-468-9824.
