JamesHigdon
Building different brands of carburetors we have been running into issues with pump gas mauling the rubber tips of the needles in the needle and seat assembly. I am looking at switching manufacturers of needles but wanted to see first if anyone had any experience with Grose Jet needle and seat replacement assemblies? They are basically a ball and socket assembly used in place of a traditional needle and seat with the idea being there is no rubber to wear out and flow rates are not only higher but quicker to change when needed. My personal test mule (with my girl friend driving) sputtered out on Bandera Rd. today at 5:15 when the needle decided it had had enough and stopped sealing to the seat thereby turning my well tuned Quadrajet into something that resembled a water fountain.
