Green to Checkered at HOT

 

ELM MOTT-T.J. Green from Robinson won his first feature Friday at the Heart O' Texas Speedway Friday night in the nonstop 26 car SIMS/ULMA limited modified feature. Young Brandon Hood from McGregor finished second with Ray Kemp Jr. from Riesel in third.

 

Keith Green, T. J.'s dad, took the IMCA modified feature with Johnny Sheets from Gatesville in second and Ronnie Warren from Oglesby in third.

 

David Khoury won a four car battle and his first I-stock feature of the year over Eric Jones from Killeen and Brandon Dulock from Lorena.

 

Timmy Kemp from Bellmead won a two car chase with Scott Tacker from West to take the pure stock feature win. James Wills from Axtell ran third.

 

Local driver Paul Bolfing from ran a strong race to win the street stock feature over fellow Wacoan Jerry Whatley and Mark Geurin from Whitney.

 

Young Chris Wills from Waco chalked up another cruiser feature win with Michael Haisler from Elm Mott in second and Chad Barber from Waco in third.

 

Brandon Goodnight from Mart passed Kevin Green from Robinson on the last lap to win the junior mini stock feature. Nathan Sodek from Temple settled for third.

 

Kids from two to twelve competed in Box Car Races during intermission. Winners were Jillian Sexton (age 11/2) from West, Preston Jacobs (age 3) from Hewitt, Allison Sexton (age 5) from West, Regan Reed (age 6) from Chalk Bluff, Cheyenne Goodnight (age 12) from Hallsburg, and Cameron Young (age 7) from Robinson.

 

Racing action continues on Sunday with the second Enduro 250 race of the season beginning at 8:00 P.M. All seven classes will be competing again next Friday. The special event of the week will be the Kids' Silver Rush during intermission. Gates open at 6:00 P.M. and racing begins at 8:00 P.M.
