The first night of derby action for the Texas Demo Derby Series was a great

>success!!!

>

> The night started off with a very thorough inspection of the cars, over

>half of them were sent back to the pits unflagged until their cars met all

>the rules. Drivers please be sure to read your rules carefully and follow

>ALL of them, if you have questions give us a call! The thing that most

>drivers forgot to do was remove the floor plugs, please remember to remove them before you get the to shows. Several drivers did not have their flame retardant apparel and were almost not allowed to run, they were lucky enough to borrow what they needed from some of the racers. Please be sure to have your flame retardant apparel!

> We have also made one change to the rules for safety reasons, and you might want to check that out on the website, it concerns allowing a four point cage in the drivers area. There is a lot of hard hitting and we don't want anyone hurt!!

>

> Sixteen cars showed up and once they all passed inspection it was an

>awesome, hard hitting, metal ripping derby. When all the smoke settled

>Justin Dahms walked away with first place, Jerry Perry was second, and Dan Nastansky was third. All in all it was a great night at the Abilene

>Speedway! We will be back there again on May 31st for a double pay night!

>

> We would like to thank all the derby drivers who came out and put on a fantastic show. We also do not want to forget to support the sponsors who support out sport. Interstate Battery, Sweetwater Steel, FM 600 and A-1 Auto Parts of Sweetwater!

>We are looking forward to April 26th when we will be at the San Antonio

>Speedway, and we hope to see everyone there!!!

>Thank you
