Appearances and Promotions Precede ASA Racing Texas 250

 

 

Pendleton, IN (April 9, 2003) – A first-ever appearance for the series that builds champions in the Lone Star State brings with it a number of promotional activities leading up to the Saturday, April 12 history- making event.

 

Clear Channel radio stations in the major market Houston region have been touting the event for a few weeks already. KLOL Rock 101 has been designating the Ultimate Race Fan and KKRW The Arrow 93.7 is in a search for an Honorary Pit Crew Member. Both stations are awarding Coca-Cola T-shirts with the Texas 250 event logo through a

combined promotion involving the Greenspoint Mall, Pasadena Town Square, Mall of the Mainland and San Jacinto Mall.

 

Rock 101 will spend an hour on Thursday at the Mall of Mainland from noon to 1 p.m. while The Arrow will be at the San Jancinto Mall during the same noon to 1 p.m. period. They will be awarding Coca-Cola Texas 250 shirts to attendees.

 

KKRW The Arrow 93.7 will conduct a live remote broadcast and party at Houston Motor Speedway on race day from 5 to 7 p.m. The party will feature food from acclaimed local establishment James Coney Island, home of Houston’s favorite hot dog.

 

On Thursday, April 10, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Butch Miller, driver of the No. 52 Timber Wolf Chevrolet will be available to greet fans and sign autographs at Buc-ee’s The Fun Store. Buc-ee’s is located at 931 North Loop 274 in Angleton, Tex., and will serve as an associate sponsor with the SS Racing entry for the Texas 250. Miller is the current points leader following his season opening victory at Lakeland, Fla. on March 22.

 

Randall Reed Ford at 19000 Eastex Freeway in Humble, Tex., has been hosting a Test Drive and Win promotion for ten days prior to the Texas 250. The dealership will be the site of a show car appearance on Thursday with driver Rick Beebe of Kansas and his No. 5 Structural Transport Ford from 5 to 7 p.m. the appearance will be supported with a live radio broadcast from Infinity Broadcasting Sports Radio 610.

 

On Friday, April 11 the noon to 1 p.m. period will find Rock 101 at the Pasadena Town Square while the Arrow 93.7 will be on-site at the Greenspoint Mall.

 

Houston Motor Speedway will host a Welcome Party for ASA racers and crews at the racetrack. Chef’s Table will cater the party from 5 to 7 p.m.

 

Coaches Sports Bar at 17460 Northwest Freeway in Houston will be hosting a Welcome ASA Party with Sports Radio 610 starting at 8 p.m. Coaches is a premier sports bar in the area with 24 TVs, including three Big Screens.

 

On Race day at the track, The Arrow 93.7 will host a “Rock the Lot Party” from 6 until 8 p.m. Coca-Cola and James Coney Island will be the beverage and food for the lucky partiers.

Also on Saturday, prior to the Texas 250, Sports Radio 610 will sponsor a Tailgate Party from 5 to 7 p.m. at Houston Motor Speedway. Budweiser and Otto’s BBQ are the beverage and food of choice.

 

Tickets are still available for the ASA Racing Texas 250 at Houston Motor Speedway, online at asaracing.com or by calling 1-888-ASA-1020. Qualifications start at 4 p.m. (local). The on-track fan autograph session is at 6 p.m. following by the pre-race introductions and then the green flag at 8 p.m. (local). The Texas 250 will be telecast live on Speed Channel at 9 p.m. (Eastern) with a re-broadcast set for 2 a.m. (Eastern) later that night/morning.
