NickHolt
Randy Lee Goes Wire-to-wire at Thunder Hill Defending Texas Pro Sedan Champion Randy Lee of Corpus Christi began his quest for a repeat championship by winning the 25-lap feature at Thunder Hill Raceway Saturday night. Pole-sitter Bill LaBarge of Bryan set fast time in qualifying (17.09 seconds) while Lee qualified second (17.36 seconds) to earn the outside pole. But just after the green flag dropped, LaBarge spun his BMW between turns one and two giving the lead to Lee’s Ford Mustang. Lee then led all 25 laps for the win. LaBarge, who had to start at the rear of the pack after his spin, worked his way through the field and was in second place and closing in on the leader as the checked flag flew. Sergio Hexsel of San Antonio brought his VW Scirocco home third while Randy Larsen of Wimberley in a VW Karmann Ghia and VW Scirocco driver Mike Knotts of Universal City rounded out the top five. rebelracewriter
Thanx for the Pro Sedan results, I missed ya at the track. So what happened to all the P/S cars? I thought it was heat race not a feature. Do I have your permission to use the P/S story, with my stuff for the Rat Traxx?
NickHolt
Jay, Sure, use it if you like. Just send the check to my house.. LOL. We were expecting 18 or 19 cars. Only 12 showed up for whatever reason. Lost a couple of cars that did show up to blown engines during practice and one car smacked the wall during qualifying, so only nine cars started the feature. We were very disappointed since there were a lot more cars that were "almost ready." Hopefully we will be a full force by the San Antonio race on 4/26/03.
