Slader Battles to Second O’Reilly NCRA Southern Modified Victory

by John Rittenoure

Muskogee, Oklahoma (October 9, 2010) - Kyle Slader fought his way to front in four laps then held on to win the O'Reilly NCRA Southern Modified main event Saturday at the Thunderbird Speedway. Slader, who also won at Thunderbird on August 7, took the lead from points leader Dustin Buntin after a restart for Ross McCartney who spun.

Friday night preliminary feature winner Todd Decker led the opening lap only to give way to Buntin on lap two. However Buntin was out front for only two laps before the yellow waved. On the restart Buntin suffered damage to his right front and came to stop. Buntin left on the hook and Slader took over for the remainder of the race to earn a $1,200 payday. Decker finished in second while Craig Ridgeway, Kevin Snow and Landon Maddox rounded out the top five.

The National Championship Racing Association would like to thank the following for their contribution and involvement with the southern modifieds for 2010: O’Reilly Auto Parts, Hoosier Racing Tire, Sunoco Race Fuels, Ramirez Motorsports and DIRT Performance Parts and Tires
