Both shows pay $10,000 to win. Dixie's show starts at 7:30 and also includes the local Econo Bombers, Super Bombers, Limited Late Models, and Cruisers. Last year at Dixie, Earl Pearson Jr., at 13.824 seconds, set a new New Track Record. He finished third, as Ray Cook got his first Dixie Shootout win, with Dan Schlieper second. (Dixie regular Lee Sutton reset the record at 13.806 May 15.) At Rome, Scott Bloomquist, of Mooresburg, TN, clinched the 2009 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series National Championship in grand fashion by winning the final series race of the year. Bloomquist led all 50 laps to take the $10,000 first place money, but more importantly took home the $75,000 first place check for winning his first ever Lucas Oil Series title. Last year eight GA drivers made the feature for the Rome show.
