Paul McMahan Scores Big in LaCrosse Extreme Tough Challenge at Williams Grove

MECHANICSBURG, PA - Oct. 2, 2010 - Kasey Kahne Racing's Paul McMahan powered his way to a podium finish Friday night at Williams Grove Speedway to lead the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series stars in a LaCrosse Footwear Extreme Tough Challenge event.

McMahan, of Nashville, Tenn., used his performance against the vaunted Pennsylvania Posse to move into the Top 10 in the overall LaCrosse Extreme Tough Challenge championship, which pits World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series stars against World of Outlaws Late Model Series stars in a season-long battle that wraps up in November at the World of Outlaws World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte.

"The drivers competing in the Extreme Tough Challenge are very competitive so being able to break into the Top 10, especially at a tough place like Williams Grove, is exciting," McMahan said. "With a few more races to earn points we'll keep charging as hard as we can."

McMahan's teammate, Joey Saldana, plus World of Outlaws championship leader Jason Meyers, 2001 champion Danny Lasoski and four-time champion Donny Schatz also earned Extreme Tough Challenge points on Friday night. After being supplanted atop the standings by World of Outlaws Late Model Series stars Darrell Lanigan and Josh Richards, Schatz once again gained ground Friday night and has forced a three-way tie in the battle for the LaCrosse crown.

The World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series drivers have one more chance - Oct. 9 at Rolling Wheels Raceway Park - to earn points before their finale at the World Finals.

There have been six Extreme Tough Challenge events for the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series and seven events for the World of Outlaws Late Model Series, and 19 different drivers have earned Extreme Tough Challenge points.

The Extreme Tough Challenge features 16 overall events - eight per series - where drivers who are competing full-time in the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series or the World of Outlaws Late Model Series earn points toward the championship, which will be decided at the World of Outlaws World Finals Nov. 4-5-6 at The Dirt Track at Charlotte. The top five finishers no matter the series will share a $15,000 point fund, and the winning driver will receive the Extreme Tough Challenge champion trophy.

Also, at each Extreme Tough Challenge event, LaCrosse will distribute keepsake posters as well as provide hat and t-shirt giveaways. Fans can get involved at every race through a unique Extreme Tough competition with the chance to win a pair of LaCrosse boots.
