Young Racer goes from Champion to Rookie in just a few weeks.

From: Montgomery Racing

Saturday night September 11th (2010) will be a whole new type of racing for Clemens High School Freshman Hunter Montgomery. After eight years in open wheel midget and Sprint cars, he will climb into a full bodied stock car. Not just the car will be different but the racing surface as well will change, going back to his Lone Star Quarter Midget Days and back onto Asphalt from the dirt he has gotten so used too.

Hunter just completed a Championship run in the Brazos Mini Sprints, and now sets his sights on getting ready for a run at the 2011 Rookie of the year in the Thunder Stock Class at Thunderhill Raceway (Kyle, TX). This will be a whole new experience for Father & Son Team with Montgomery Racing. Hunter’s long time Crew Chief and even longer time Dad, Donnie, will have his work cut out with the same learning curve that Hunter will face with Four times the weight & nearly the same in Horsepower.

At 15 years old, Hunter already has 8 years of racing experience. In that eight years, he already has 4 different championships to his Credit. (2002 Jr. Novice LSQMA, 2006 Texas Shootout Championship, 2006 LSQMA Champion, 2010 Brazos Mini Sprints Champion.) He certainly will be one to watch for the 2011 season at Thunderhill Raceway.
