Come join the Colorado Late Model Association DIRTcar Series for their final weekend of racing in the 2010 season. We will be heading to Casper Speedway and Gillette Thunder Speedway and a champion will be crowned.

On Friday, August 20th the CLMA will be visiting the 1/2 mile Casper Speedway in Casper, WY for the first time in series history. Scott Lewis of Henderson, CO won a DIRTcar sanctioned race at the track on the 4th of July and would love to pick up his 1st CLMA win of the season. This is the home track for Jason Schierkolk, who is currently 3rd in CLMA points and he is also looking to pick up his 1st CLMA win of the season and try to gain some valuable points on current points leader Eddie Kirchoff. This race will pay $1,200 to win and $200 to start.

The final race of the 2010 season will be on Saturday, August 21st at the 3/8th mile Gillette Thunder Speedway in Gillette, WY. This will be the third time that the CLMA has visited the track this year. Eddie Kirchoff of Gillette, WY has won the first two races and would love to make it a clean sweep at his home track and wrap up his second career CLMA championship. Dave Garmann, who was the 2009 CLMA champion and is 2nd in the current CLMA points is only 33 points behind Kirchoff going into the last weekend of racing. Garmann finished 2nd and 4th at the two previous races at this track and would love to pick up his first win of the season. If Garman is able to pass Kirchoff in the points he would be only the second driver is series history to repeat as champion. This race will also pay $1,200 to win and $200 to start.

Also,an anonymous sponsor has put a bounty on Eddie Kirchoff for the race at Gillette Thunder Speedway. Any driver that can beat Eddie Kirchoff at Gillette and win the race while he is still running will receive a $500 bonus!!! Eddie has won 5 of the last 6 CLMA races at Gillette Thunder Speedway. Can anyone beat Eddie and take home the bonus?

With Eddie Kirchoff missing the last two race it has really tightened up the battle for the 2010 CLMA Championship and will make things a little bit more interesting this weekend. There are only 69 points separating 1st threw 4th so the championship is still up for grabs. Who will leave Gillette as the champion?
