Boernebullet
Please Keep Paul Kliewer ( #22 Modified Driver) in your prayers. One of his horses he was training fell on him and Paul has been in surgery all morning. Don't have many details right now, but do know he is at University Hospital in SA. Boernebullet
Went by the Hospital tonight to see Paul and he is doing pretty good ( especially with the push button for the morphin). He has a severally broken leg; which they have stabalized with titanium rods till they can do more surgery next Tuesday to put rods and hold it together. He said it will be a few years till they can go in and replace his Knee. He is at University Hospital in room 719.
debwill
I got a call from John Paul Kliewer earlier this evening. He is finally out of the hospital, but he has a long road ahead to recovery. His left leg is very messed up - full of rods and steel plates. He will not be able to walk on it for at least three months. In addition, his knee is totally wasted. It may take years before they can reconstruct his knee, and right now he can't even sit up for very long due to potential problems with blood clots. Also, he’s not working now since it was his business to break and train horses. Please say your prayers for John Paul. He's really going through some very difficult times right now and needs our prayers and support.

NickHolt
One day doing just fine. Next day in the hospital with no job and a mangled leg. God works in mysterious ways that are beyond our human understanding. We will continue to pray that God's will be done in this situation. Sometimes we, just like horses, are broken before we are able to be used by Him. Nick

debwill
A benefit account has been set up for John Paul Kliewer by some of his close friends. We will be doing some benefit activities this weekend to help this racing family member. First of all, we've set up a raffle for a toolbox that has been donated by NAPA Auto Parts. Raffle tickets will be available this weekend for a $5 donation per ticket. The winner's name will be drawn on Saturday, August 14. Secondly, the Pro Modified drivers will ask for "helmet donations" in the grandstands during the driver introductions before their feature race. Please be generous in your support of a fellow racer during this very difficult time.
