Lewis makes it 3 in a row at Colorado Motorsports Park and extends point lead in UMP DIRTcar CO/KS/WY Region

by: Cory Moul

Scott Lewis of Henderson, CO continues to be on a hot streak in the state of Colorado with his MasterSbilt Late Model. With his third straight win at Colorado Motorsports Park on Sunday, June 6th he has won four out of the last five late model races held in the state of Colorado dating back to his win with the Colorado Late Model Association DIRTcar Series at I-76 Speedway last October.

He went into the weekend with only a two point lead in the UMP DIRTcar CO/WY/KS Region over Casper, WY driver Jason Schierkolk. After a disappointing 15th place finish at the $10,000 to win Colorado Late Model Association DIRTcar Series race in Jetmore, KS on Saturday, June 5th, Scott fell to 2nd in points, only 1 point behind Jason Schierkolk who finished 12th at the race. Scott and his crew decided that it would be best if they passed up the $3,000 to win race in Bellville, KS and made the trip back to Colorado to run with the DIRTcar Colorado Late Model Association and pick up some valuable UMP DIRTcar CO/WY/KS Region points. Jason Schierkolk decided to to the same thing.

It was a good thing that Scott Lewis decided to come back and race at Colorado Motorsports Park because he picked up his 3rd straight win at the track. With Jason finishing in 8th place Scott was able to extend his points lead in the UMP DIRTcar CO/WY/KS Region to 28 points.
