Too much rain: Run For The Money rescheduled for June 15

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (June 8) – The story from Lincoln County Raceway is too much rain and, as a result, no racing.

Tonight’s scheduled Run For The Money special in North Platte has been postponed until next Tuesday, June 15.

“We’ve just gotten too much rain (a total of 2.6 inches) the last two nights,” explained promoter Ed Milne. “There’s no way we can get on the track.”

No change has been made in the program, which sees IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods on board for the fifth annual event, which will double as a Larry Shaw Racing Blood, Sweat and Tears Nebraska Series show.

Pit gates will open at 4 p.m., the grandstand opens at 5 p.m., hot laps are at 6 p.m. and racing will start at 7 p.m.

Modifieds will race for $900 to win, Stock Cars for $550 and both the Hobby Stocks and Northern SportMods $325. All applicable IMCA points will be awarded.

NebraskaLand National Bank returns as sponsor of the event, adding $1,000 to the Modified, Stock and Hobby winners’ shares.

Entry fee for drivers who have not competed previously at Lincoln County this season is $45.

Grandstand admission is $12 for adults and $6 for kids, with five and under admitted free. Pit passes are $20.

More information about the event is available from Milne at 308 530-1578 or by emailing ej06@qwestoffice.net.
