DIRTcar Colorado Weekly Late Model Race #2 at CMP

The DIRTcar Colorado Weekly Late Model Series will be returning to Colorado Motorsports Park this Sunday, May 23rd, for their second race of the season. At the first race of the year there were 17 late models that showed up and it is looking like there will be just as many if not more.

 

Winner of race number one, Scott Lewis from Henderson, CO will be there again and will going for three straight wins in late model races held in Colorado. Scott is currently 3rd in the UMP DIRTcar CO/KS/WY Region Late Model Points and is only 13 points behind 2nd place Jason Schierkolk from Casper, WY and 15 points behind 1st place Dave Garmann from Brighton, CO. Dave will not be able to make the race due to a family function, but Jason will be making the trip down from Wyoming to try and pick up some valuable points and hopefully head home with the points lead.

 

Some other drivers that have said that they will be there this Sunday are Craig Baukama, Dylon Schmer, Chris Persichetti, and Kyle Hill.

 

So come out to the park this Sunday and see some more great late model action. The Rocky Mountain Midget Racing Association will also be racing for the first time ever at CMP so it should be a great day of racing.
