lilmodified Posted March 29, 2010 Report Share Posted March 29, 2010 this is one of the most haunting pieces of film i think i've seen...(and, the music may lend to that, too..) i wish i could include the info i got with it, but the gist of it is that it was filmed a couple days before the big earthquake of 1906... the part i found the most interesting is the lack of structure on the roads...everyone (2-leg, 4-leg or 4-wheeled-or more-just seem to amble where they please...) it's a lil over 7 minutes long, but it's worth watching for the historic value, if nothing else... click this link: http://www.flixxy.com/san-francisco-1905-h...cal-footage.htm i hope y'all enjoy it! ps-it is filmed from the front window of a streetcar on market st, san francisco... Didn't seem to matter if you drove on the right side, left side or on the sidewalk. my favorite part was the car that drove AROUND the group of guys waiting on the streetcar! and, i even noticed that the driver of the car didn't seem visually upset about having to do so...
