rebelracewriter Posted April 22, 2004 Report Share Posted April 22, 2004 Texas Motor Speedway Media Relations, (817) 215-8520 CONTACT: Sarona Winfrey Gary Guehler -- For Immediate Release SPEEDWAY CHILDREN’S CHARITIES POKER RUN TO HELP AREA KIDS FORT WORTH-DALLAS (April 21, 2004) – Area motorcycle riders will have the opportunity for a fun-filled day of riding and the opportunity to aid kids Saturday, May 15 during the annual Poker Run hosted by Speedway Children’s Charities. Participants will ride throughout the Metroplex collecting cards at various checkpoints that will comprise a hand of poker. Prizes for the best poker hands will be awarded. The ride ends at Texas Motor Speedway. The event will conclude with an evening of live music, bike games, a bike show, vendors, raffles and laps around the 1.5-mile Texas Motor Speedway. The Poker Run begins with registration from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. The first bike will start the Poker Run at 11 a.m. Live music and other festivities will begin at 4:30 p.m. at the speedway. The registration for the Poker Run is $20 per person with proceeds going to Speedway Children’s Charities. Registration is available at www.bikers-stuff.com. Vendors are welcome with registration including a covered display space at the speedway with power, two passes to the Poker Run and a listing in the vendor flyer. “Children throughout the area are the real winners of the Poker Run,” said speedway general manager Eddie Gossage. “Riders get a fun tour of the Metroplex and laps around the speedway while benefiting Speedway Children’s Charities. Everybody wins by participating in the Poker Run.” The Poker Run will begin from five locations. The starting points are The End Zone in Plano, Strokers Dallas in Dallas, Texas Harley-Davidson in Bedford, American Ironhorse in Fort Worth and American Eagle Harley-Davidson in Corinth. Speedway Children’s Charities will also host Laps for Charity on Saturday night, May 8, offering participants laps around Texas Motor Speedway in their personal vehicles.
