(Jan. 4) – Talladega Short Track will host the first IMCA Modified special event of the 2010 race season, with the Jan. 7-10 running of the 19th annual Ice Bowl. The winner earns $1,500 and a spot on the ballot for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. IMCA national, ButlerBuilt Eastern Region and Smiley’s Racing Products State points will be awarded. Gates to the pit area open at 9 a.m. and open practice sessions run from noon-5 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Jan. 7-8. Modified qualifying gets underway Saturday, Jan. 9. Gates open at 8 a.m. and hot laps are at 10:30 a.m., with racing to follow. Gates open at 9 a.m. and racing starts at approximately noon on Sunday, Jan. 10.
