rebelracewriter
DA KING Pulled the sweep!!!!! Steve Kinser won everything possible Sat. night, by taking his heat, dash and leading all 30 laps of the A-main. Kinser started outside polesitter Shane Stewart and quickly grabbed the lead on lap one. As Kinser pulled away Stewart and Dollansky battled for second, with Dollansky getting the spot. Kinsers run wasn't easy as he had to dodge a couple obsticles along the way. On lap 6 Curt Trainer clipped an infield tire and spun in turn two as Kinser was entering turn one. Kinser got by with no trouble, while Trainer retired with broken front suspension. On the restart Kinser had a two car buffer back to Dollansky in second and easily built a good lead. Kinsers next scare came on lap 12 when Bob Bennett broke and slowed directly in front of him. Kinser made one helluva maneuver to avoid Bennett, but the ensuing caution gave Dollansky a chance to close back in. At halfway it was S. Kinser, Dollansky, Stewart, Danny Lasoski and Brooke Tatnell. As Kinser got into traffic, Dollansky closed in with the two nose to tail. Dollansky moved to the high groove with Kinser down low. Kinser got slowed briefly by a lap car going into turn one and Dollansky got along side on top, but Kinser faught back down the straight. Kinser jumped to the high side to throw the block and Dollansky dove in low. Dollansky slid by, but slid too high and Kinser got back around coming out low. As the two diced it out through traffic they went three wide around a slower car with Dollansky getting the edge by a nerf bar, but Kinser again drove back past of the straight. Kinser finally regained a slight advantage and was able to hang on for the win putting the Quaker State/Delco Remy/Hoosier/Maxim Chassis in victory lane. TIME TRIALS 1. LAPS LEADER: STEVE KINSER 1-30 Results agate compliments of Greg Stephens SIMS/ULMA Modifieds Vince Louden and Jim Tanner paced the field to green. Louden grabbed the lead on lap one, but local hot shoe, Jerry Aylor quickly moved into 3rd from his fifth row start. Aylor used little time getting around Tanner and then Louden to grab to lead on lap 3. Once Aylor got the lead he began to check out. Caution came out on lap 6 when Paul Garedner and Brian Boram got together with Boram backing hard into the wall. By halfway Aylor had built a full straightaway lead over Bobby Fehring, with Kenneth Jones, Kenny Rausin and Tanner rounding out the top five. Aylor looked to be a runaway winner, until lap 15 when he had trouble and pulled to the infield. This handed the lead over to Fehring, who had built a good lead of own. No one was close as Fehring in the Gentry Automotive/Angel Bros. Const./Wendalls Transmission/O'Rielly Auto Parts/SS Carberators/Arrowhead Paint/Extreme Chassis took the checkers. 33 Bobby Fehring 3 Kenneth Jones 35 Kenny Rausin 5 Jim Tanner 66 Jim Asher sr. 23 Joe Maple 27 Vince Louden 114 David Jackson 188 Jay Brinson 54 Don Morton 19 Doug Maxwell 41 Randall Moulder 57 Royce Stanley 56 Eric Thorne 80 Michael Bearden 30 Paul Gardner 83 Jerry Aylor 88 Brian Boram 51 Greg Price 87 Tom Parten 9 Michaerl Powell-DNS 31 Rusty Mangum-DNS Late Models Randall Moulder and Frankie Rash led the 13 car field to green. Moulder grabbed the lead while Tim Sitton moved into second. Rash and Tom Parten Battled for 3rd, making slight contact sending Rash spinning to the infield and Parten to the pit with a flat. On the restart Bubba Morgan clipped an infield tire and made an immediate right turn slamming hard into Dave McMillan, barely clipping Jim Tanner and collecting Mike Jackson. After the restart, T. Sitton dove low as Moulder went high and slowed, T. Sitton grabbed the lead with Moulder pulling off. T. Sitton began pulling away, with Steven Bateman and Kevin Sitton battling for second. A caution for debris came at halfway with T. Sitton, Bateman, K. Sitton, Parten and Billy Cain in the top five. T. Sitton got out to a five car length advantage, but broke and rolled to a stop in turn three. Bateman inched ahead back under green as Parten and Rash made contact again. Parten moved in on K. Sitton and battled for second allowing Bateman to build a 10 car length lead as the checkers flew. 22 Steven Bateman 20 Kevin Sitton 70 Tom Parten 3 Billy Cain 17 Frankie Rash 6 Dennis Handley 11 James Cates 1 Tim Sitton 5 Jim Tanner 41 Randall Moulder 2 Bubba Morgan 7 Dave McMillan 8 Mike Jackson 18 Johnny Hernandez-DNS
